My mission is to help as many people as I can realise the power that they hold over their lives and SHOW them by empowering them to heal their relationship with themselves and food; to live a life where restrictive dieting and emotional eating are in the past.
As a teenager and into my early young adult years I struggled with my relationship with food (eating disorders, dieting, emotional/ binge eating) and this was accompanied by never feeling good enough (and being depressed). When my second baby was born I started realising that something needed to change; I couldn’t keep living the way I was and be the sort of mum I wanted to be.
Around this time I had started my degree in psychology and community nutrition; which helped me a lot on my journey. I started to understand how deeply the way I thought about myself (and even at life in general) was impacting the way I felt and acted. By working through this I was able to reach the place I am at today; at peace around food and caring for myself; the mum I wanted to be (now a mum of 4) and a person who is passionate about helping others do the same.
Food is often just the symptom
We often have deep rooted beliefs about ourselves and others that we feed with our thoughts; which continue the unhealthy cycles we find ourselves in. For me: my low-self confidence and the way I viewed myself was strongly tied to the way I treated myself. I had to break through these thoughts and beliefs to truly heal my relationship with myself and therefore, food.
Because of my journey I have gained a very strong and deep understanding of how we keep ourselves stuck in unhealthy relationships with food and ourselves; this allows me to walk people through their healing journey and start living the life they deserve.
Depending on food to cope with life is not a nice way to live and it often comes with self beliefs of not being good enough. You don’t need to hop on another diet: I promise you that: we just need to work on the inner stuff and make adjustments to your lifestyle (slowly!).
